Over the past couple of years it has become more important to me to move away from mainstream food ideologies and focus on quality and health rather than the convenience of fast food and trips to the grocery store for chemically treated produce and canned items. So with that being said I wanted to expand my current container garden by installing raised beds. Being short on time I decided to see what Amazon had and I was not disappointed. There were so many options that it was hard to decide. I chose beds that would give me the most lawn space to work with. The measurements were 8x4x1. And yes only one foot tall because what I will be growing in them will not require a lot of root room. Such as tomatoes, squashes, broccoli, bell peppers and such. So I was fine with the size of the beds.
Amazon delivered the package early. And I couldn’t wait to start assembling it. Turns out it was perfect!
So I started by taking everything out of its packaging and laying it out in my living room. It didn’t matter where I assembled them as the could be picked up and moved later.
Assembly begins.
It was quite simple to put together with only screws and nuts so anybody can do it, although having a second hand or two was a great help. My husband actually was the one who put them together. I was so excited, I couldn’t wait to see my garden thrive with so much room!
Now to figure out where to put them.
Perfect spot.

After finding their permanent home I took some old card board and lined the bottom of the beds. This will act as a weed barrier.
Now to fill the beds. This will take a while. But I will have to hurry because I already have sprouts in the house that will need to be planted soon.

I have provided the link to the beds that I bought. I am very pleased at how they turned out. I will be posting updated pictures of how the garden looks after planting in another post.
