Draw A Delicious Pińa Colada With Me

So just came back recently from a tropical vacation and was inspired by the pineapple drinks that they carry around so let’s draw a piña colada together. I will using Prismacolor Premeir pencils and Arteza alcohol markers. I will provide links to the art supplies I will be using below. So let’s jump right in.

Go ahead and make your sketch. Remember I only do the outlines because the details come later.

Once you are happy with your sketch go ahead and use your kneaded eraser to remove as much of the sketch without completely losing your outline.

Choose you colors and go ahead and block in your drawing.

I decided to start with the straws, making sure that there were shading and highlights. Remember where your light source is going to be coming from. I also went ahead and colored in the cherries and the orange slices. I started on the yellow hibiscus down at the bottom, right of the drawing by completely coloring, the whole flower in Prisma color, pencils, and then adding shading and lines to imitate the folds of the petals.

Peach petals done as well. I love this color and especially on a hibiscus flower. I thought it flowed very well the tropical theme.

I’m gonna walk you through how to do the flowers first I start off by outlining all of the flower petals in the main color that your flower is going to be. Like this.

Once it is outlined, go ahead and fill in the entire flower with that base color. You will still be able to see some of your outlines and use them for guides.

Here it is with the darker outline.

Now take the same color that you used to do the darker outline, and start drawing the details in the pedal to create the divots and rolls that a flower pedal has.

Now take the same colored pencil, that you used for the base color of the flower, and start smoothing the dark lines down and into the bottom of the flower, where the stem comes out. Make some darker some lighter to add depth and dimension to the roles and divots on the petals. Make sure to darken any shady spots, such as under the flower or behind a pedal to make sure it achieves that 3-D image.

Now take your white prisma color pencil and start adding highlights to the petals and the stem keeping in mind your source of light direction.

Finish everything up and go in to add your highlights and your done.

Thank you for your time I hope you enjoyed this. Make sure like and share.
